I greatly appreciate the range of audio books available for free on LibriVox. However, the app function is clunky and I frequently find myself having to find the last page where I left off listening. Some of the books have fantastic narrators such as Elizabeth Klett and Lars Rollander , but others such as the History of Tom Jones: A Fieldling have multiple narrators that vary from talented to painful to listen to. Thanks for your review and feedback. The app should resume to where you left off in a book when you press play. It sounds like that is not happening?
What specifically do you find to be clunky? Please use our rating feature to leave feedback on a recording once you have listened to a book. That helps other users yourself find the best recordings. Edit: This app works well but having only the scrolling audio representation instead of a normal playback bar is intolerable if you get interrupted and have to rewind. Instead of just being able to slide the position on a playback bar, you have to scroll backwards minute by minute on the audio bar. I've used the app for a long time and I enjoy it, but these days I usually only use it to fall asleep so I know I won't have to make any adjustments. Thanks for your updated review.
In the next update of the app, which should be released in the next week or so the technical team has added the option to have the sliding duration bar or the sound wave. Excellent selection of audio books. Especially like that it's not the usual suspects. You can create Collections for Books you want to read over and over. Or, view collection categories, making it easier to find that perfect book to listen to. I listen at night- it's my "bedtime story" for sleep, wish app offered me the option to Not Pause EVER, but oh well. Overall very happy. Totally worth it! Thanks for your updated review and feedback. We are glad you are enjoying our app! Over 45, free audiobooks. Search, bookmarks and sleep timer. Variable speed playback.
